WKF mitts, gum shield, body protection (all), chest protector (female), shin pads, foot protection. Must have wkf logo

Who checks that competitors are wearing approved gear?

Kanza (match supervisor). Wkf equipment cannot be refused.

Repecharge. Round robin uses appendix 14 round robin kumite.

Competitors jacket

Cover hips, no longer than 3/4 of thigh. Sleeves from half of forearm to wrist turn. Females white tshirt permitted.

Competitors pants

2/3 of shin to ankle bone. No roll.

Jacket ties?

Must have ties and be tied up. If ripped off in match don’t need to change.

Competitors belt?

Red aka or blue so. Approx 5cm wide. Tie with 15cm hanging up to 3/4 of thigh. No embroidery except manufacturer

Special labels of approved sponsors?

Only with Executive Committee approval

Hair

Clean, not too long. 1-2 plain rubber bands. Referee can disbar from bout of too long/unclean. Plain black religious hair cover, not throat.

What if a team is disqualified KIKEN for not presenting when called?

Score for bout is 8-0 against. Can compete in other categories.

How many members in a male team?

7, and 5 compete per round

How many members in a female team?

4, and 3 compete per round

Can a team have reserves?

No. All are members of the team.

In team competition, what must they hand in to the offical table before each match?

Official form with names and fighting order of team

What is SHIKKAKU?

Disqualification for changing team fight order without prior notification. Bout is recorded as 8-0 loss.

Can teams change fight order or team composition?

Yes, but must notify official table prior to the bout

What is KIKEN?

Disqualified for not appearing when called for individual or team

Can a team change fight order more than once?

No, once a change is notified, it is final

What does an elimination kumite round do?

Eliminates 50% of competitors (including byes)

What does a round robin (matrix) kumite round do?

Allows each competitor to fight each other once within their pool

Bout vs match?

Bout is one round of team competition. Match is all rounds of team competition.

How long are bouts?

3mins senior male/female, 21 male/female. 2mins junior/cadet

Tatami Manager provides list to RC Chairman & Secretary with 8 officials from Tatami after last bout. Approved by Chairman, then random electronic selection of 5/8 from each Tatami

2 Tatami Managers, 1 Tatami Manager Assistant, 1 Score Supervisor, 1 Score Keeper

Same as other events, but 1 Tatami Manager instead of 2
Does the Kansa bow at start of match?
No, just Referee on outer edge of mat area, 2 judges each side

Competitors to judge panel, Referee steps back, judges/ref bow inwards to eachother. Then move to position
Changing judges procedure?
departing Official (not Kansa) line up as per start, bow, then leave together

What are the 3 degrees of warning?

CHUKOKU, KEIKOKU, HANSOKU CHUI.


These are warnings of violation without immediate penalty

What are the 2 degrees of penalty?
HANSOKU, SHIKKAKU. HANSOKU from bout, SHIKKAKU from tournament with possible further sanctions from Legal & Disciplinary commission


What happens if a competitor doesn't fully regain feet within 10 secs?
Declared unfit to continue fighting in all Kumite for remainder of Tournament (withdrawn)



What if a competitor doesn't get up immediately?

Ref calls doctor, English count to 10 showing fingers.

Does the Doctor need to examine if the count stops before 10


Yes, once count started, Doctor must examine before resuming

Can a competitor be examined by the Doctor on the mat?


Yes, for incidents under the 10 Second Rule, if physically unable to leave the mat
If the Referee doesn't hear the time up bell, should the Kansa blow the whistle?
