-failed to remove Saddam after the gulf war -George W Bush was in power and wanted to make an impact unlike his dad -strong leaders also wanted him gone from power -Media: Rupert Murdoch (owner of a worldwide newspaper) and fox TV both supported the invasion making the public back it as well -UK/Tony Blair: in their best interests to stay friends with America -other efforts have failed to remove Saddam from power -9/11: thought Saddam was working with al-quada -Saddam continued to go against UN resolutions |
