What is the difference between information and data?
Data is the raw facts that is inputed into a computer system while information is the data that has been processed.
Name 4 sources of data and define them

1.) Machine Readable Documents- machine Readable Documents are documents that a computer can read.

2.)Human Readable Documents- These are documents that humans can read.

3.) Source Documents- A source document is used to capture information by writing it down. Source documents are human readable. Eg. Polls, Forms

4.) Turnaround Documents- A Turn Around Document is both machine readable and human readable. A machine creates it and a human adds more data to it or uses it as input for something else.

What is Data Verification and list two ways of ensuring this.

Data Verification ensures that all the data entered into a computer contains no errors at all.

Two methods of ensuring data verification are:

1.) Double Entry- This is where the same data is entered twice,if the data entered differs then it is not processed.

2.Proofreading- Proofreading checks the data entered against the data on the original source document.

What is Data Validation? List Two ways the validate data
Data Validation uses a variety of checks to make sure that data entered is accurate.
