Active Immunity (long lasting)
1. Naturally acquired-by contracting a disease, such as measles, mumps, chickenpox and producing antibodies to ward off the disease.
2. Artificially acquired by injecting the body with attenuated disease causing microorganisms which stimulate the body to produce antibodies.
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
Is a disease that affects the body's ability to fight infection. A progressive impairment of the immune system.
