Biological Level of Analysis

Participant Observation
|
Researcher becomes part of the group on order to study actions from the inside. Particular ethical problems, Good to understanding of actions, could lead to a non-observing participant instead if not watched.

|
An approach by researchers not inputting yourself in the action/conversation.

Case Study
|
An in depth study of a single instance of something. Detailed but narrow focus, variety of methods, may use unreliable background research, not always readily generalizable, could be easily comparable to others.

Ethical Consideration

Deception lying to participant to make sure no reactivity, Must be approved.
Debrief giving participants in a research study a complete explanation of the study after the study is completed. WIthdraw giving people the opportunity to leave experiment and destroy data before, during, after. Inform consent informing people of what they are about to participate in. Protection making sure people are safe from harm during experiment. Confidentiality not sharing data if not allowed. |
