Aldosterone

Renal targets: Nephron loop, DCT, CD.

The effects of Aldosterone promote Sodiumreabsorption and Potassium secretion; indirectly promotes Chloride and waterreabsorption; maintains blood volume and reduces urine volume.

Angiotensin II

Renal targets: Afferent and Efferent Arterioles, PCT.

The effects of Angiotensin II reducewater loss, stimulate thirst, constrict blood vessles, thus raising bloodpressure. It reduces GFR; stimulates PCT to reabsorb NaCl and water; stimulatesaldosterone and ADH secretion.

ADH

Renal targets are theCollecting Ducts ONLY.

The effects of ADH promote water reabsorption.

Naturetic Peptides

Renal targetsare Afferent and Efferent Arterioles and Collecting Ducts.

The effects ofNaturetic Peptides dilate the afferent arteriole, constrict the efferentarteriole, increase GFR, inhibit secretion of renin, ADH and aldosterone, inhibit NaCl reabsorption by collecting duct, increase urine volume and lowerblood pressure.

Parathyroid Hormone

Renal targets are PCT, DCT,nephron loop.

The effects of PTH promote Calcium reabsorption by loop and DCT;increase phosphate excretion by PCT and promote calcitriol synthesis.

Epinephrine & Norepinephrine

Renal targets arejuxtaglomerular apparatus and afferent arteriole.

The effects of these inducerenin secretion; constrict afferent arteriole and reduce GFR.
