Systolic Heart failure

Problem

Heart cant pump out enough blood to meet the bodies demand for blood, Phase of cardiac cycle were blood is being pumped out of the heart. (weak muscles in heart=less blood being ejected from heart)

Characteristics

Thin Muscle wall

weak muscle Unable to do work

Enlarged Ventricles droopy muscle

Causes/risk factors

1 Cardiomyopathy (disease of heart muscle)

2 Reduced oxygen supply to heart muscle coronary artery disease.

3 Diseases of the valves of the heart(mitral tricuspid, pulmonary valve aortic Valve)

regurtation or stenosis of Valves

4 Arrhythmia (irregular heart beats to fastor slow or uncoordination between for chambers.

Diastolic Heart failure

Problem

The heart is unable to provide the body with adequate amounts of oxygenated. Blood due to the fact that there heart is not feeling adequately

Characteristics

Thick Heart Muscle has less room in ventricles due to thickening of muscle

Less space for blood

Causes /Risk Factors

1 Diabetes

2 Hypertension

3 Aortic Stenosis

4 Cardiomyopathy

hyper-tropic cardiomyopathy thick ventricles

Restrictive cardiomyopathy rigid stiff heart muscle .

Symptoms of Left Sided Atrio/Ventricular Heart failure

Fluid build up in lungs can occur due issues with the blood not being circulated through the systemic circulation.

Symptoms of Right sided Atrio/Ventricular Heart Failure

Fluid Build up in feet legs and Abdomen
