*On Jan 1815, a British commander led two regiments in a frontal assault into Jackson's lines. 2,100 British were shot down in 25 min and left American shores after being badly beaten. Major Gen. Jackson commended the Marines for their conduct and heroism: "high sense of valor and good conduct."
