The U.S. Federal Avation Admininstration requires that NW perform positive bag match for all of our inernational flights. |
This means that we must make sure that every customer who checks luggage on a NW international flight really does board the plane. When the passenger boards the plane, their luggage is loaded on th aircraft. If they do not board, their luggage in not boarded. |

This is called an equipment subsitution. Occasonally, there may be an equipment subsitution to an aircraft with a different seating configuration. When this happens, some customers with reserved seats have been assigned different sears. (They have been reaccommodated). |
