What makes up the outer core?

It is like a ball of very hot liquid metals of iron and nickel.

What is the mantle made up of?

It is made of magnesium and iron, the mantle is divided into three parts: the upper (ridged), middle (plastic), and lower (semi-solid).

What is the asthenosphere?

The asthenosphere has convection currents on which the plates move.

What is the lithosphere?

It consists of the crust and upper mantle. It is a solid.

What is the crust made up of?

The earth's crust is thin compared to the other layers. It is solid and made up of mostly silicon and oxygen. It is broken into many pieces called plates.

What is oceanic crust made up of?

It is made up of mostly basalt.

What is continental crust made up of?
