Describe the emergency communications procedures for emergencies within Forest Control Zone.

  • All aerodrome emergency communications are to be delivered via the direct line to RFS (H24), in accordance with the emergency message form.
  • RFS will in turn pass relevant information to Police and Ambulance services.

Describe the procedures relating to RFS vehicles on the declaration of a Full Emergency.

  • Prior to the arriving emergency aircraft landing, RFS require a clearance to operate on the manoeuvring area.
  • After the arriving emergency traffic lands RFS have automatic access to the manoeuvring area and this remains until the Fire Chief reports complete.

Describe the procedures relating to RFS vehicles on the declaration of a Local Standby?

  • RFS will remain on the apron outside the RFS building until the emergency is upgraded or RFS is told to stand down/emergency cancelled.
  • Stand down of RFS will be initiated by ATC following advice from the emergency aircraft, or by the Fire Chief in all other cases.

In the event of an emergency outside the FZ CTR, to whom shall the controller deliver the Emergency Message Form and who is responsible for notifying the appropriate emergency services?

  • All communications regarding emergencies outside the Forest CTR are to be delivered to the CH MTDM/SPOD via the direct line in accordance with the Emergency Message Form.
  • They will then in turn pass relevant information to the relevant agencies and assume responsibility for the emergency.
