What does the MHG do?
Provides command and support functions for the MEF.
Provides admininistrative and logistical support functions.
- Main units are normally - ANGLICO, Communications Battalion, Intelligence Battalion, Radio Battalion, and MP support Company.
What does the ACE do?
Task-organized to support the MAGTF mission by performing some or all of the 6 functions of Marine Corps aviation.
ACE can operate eccectively from ships, expeditionary airfields, or austere forward operating sites and can readily and routinely transition between sea bases and expeditionary airfields without loss of capability.
Can vary in size and composition from a det with specific capabilities to one or more MAW's.
What does the GCE do?
Task organized to conduct ground operations in support of the MAGTF mission.
Normally formed around an infanty organization reinforced with requisite artillery, recon, armor, and engineer forces and can vary in size and composition from rifle platoon to one or more MARDIV's.
What does the LCE do?
Task organized to provide full range of Combat Service Support (CSS) functions and capabilities needed to support the continued readiness and sustainability of the MAGTF as a whole.
- formed around a CSS HQ and may vary in size between a composition from a support det to one or more MLG's.
Where are the locations of the three standing MEF's?
I MEF - California and Arizona
II MEF - North and South carolina
III MEF - Japan and Hawaii

Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
- built around a reinforced infantry regiment, an aircraft group, and a logistics combat element.
