The 7 Elements of the Marine Corps Mission

(PPP DD EP)
Provide combined arms and supporting air components for the U.S. FLEET in the SEIZURE and DEFENSE of advanced naval bases and conduct such land operations essential to the EXECUTION of a naval CAMPAIGN.

Provide DETATCHMENTS and ORGANIZATIONS to armed vessels of the navy and SECURITY DETACHMENTS for the protection of NAVAL PROPERTY at NAVAL STATIONS and BASES.

Provide marine forces for AIRBORN operations in coordination with the Army, Navy, Air Force, by the doctrine established by the Joint Cheif of Staff.

DEVELOP in coordination with the Army, Navy, Air Force, the DETT by landing forces in AMPHIBIOUS OPERATIONS

DEVELOP in coordination with the Army, Navy, Air Forces, the Doctrine Equipment and Proceedures for AIRBORN OPERATIONS.

Expand Peacetime components to meet wartime needs according to the Joint Mobilization Plans.

Perform such other duties as the President may direct.

Marine Corps Forces
(MARFOR)
Organized as MAGTF's and are employed as Naval Expeditionary Forces or Larger joint forces combined.
Marine Corps Security Forces
(MCSF)
3,400 Marines who protect key naval instillations & Facilities worldwide.
Marine Security Gaurd
(MSG)
Detachments at Embassies and Consulates. These Marines are assigned to 121 diplomatic posts in 115 Countries worldwide
Headquarters of the Marine Corps
(HQMC)

(T-R-A-I-D-E-R) purpose of HQ
Commandant of the Marine Corps and those supporting staff agencies .

Commandant is directly responsible to the SECNAVY for Training, Requirements, Administration, Internal Organization, Discipline, Efficiency, and Readiness of the Marine Corps.
Marine Air Ground Task Force
(MAGTF)
IS the Marine Corps' principle organization for the conduct of all missions and operations.
MEF Headquarters Group
(MHG)
Provides command and support functions for the MEF Headquarters Group and Privides administrative and logistical support functions for the MEF.
Marine Aircraft Wing, Air Combat Element
(ACE)
ACE is task organized to support the MAGTF mission by performing the functions of Marine Corps Aviation.
Marine Division, Ground Combat Element
(GCE)
GCE is task organized to conduct ground operations in support of the MAGTF Mission.
Marine Logistics Group (MLG),
Logistics Combat Element (LCE)
Task organized to provide the full range of combat service support in order to accomplish the MAGTF Mission

The MEF

(Marine Expiditionary Force)
IS THE LARGEST OF THE MAGTF's THERE ARE 3 STANDING MEF's

A MEF CONSISTS OF A PERMANENT COMMAND ELEMENT, AND ONE (MARDIV), one (MAW), and one (MLG).
The MEB

(Marine Expeditionary Brigade)
IS a magtf built around a Reinforced Infantry Regiment (RIR) , Marine Aircraft Group (MAG), and Combat Logistic Regiment (CLR). The CE is commanded by a General and contains a Surveillance Reconnaissance Intelligence Group (SRIG).

The MEB is capable of Rapid Deployment and Employment via amphibious landing, strategic airlift, and marrying with MPF's.
The MEU

(Marine Expeditionary Unit)
IS a magtf composed of a Reinforced Helicopter Squadron, a Battalion Landing Team (BLT), and a Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB).

The MEU (SOC) CE containts : The Command Deck (CO, XO, SgtMaj), Headquarters Commandant, Public Affairs, the Chaplain, Medical, and s-1, s-2, s-3, s-4, and s-6.

Mission : To provide a forward deployed, sea-based, rapid crisis response capability to execute a full range of military operations.

(SPMAGTF)
The fourth Type of Magtf and is used for a specific mission such as disaster relief, humanitarian assistance, noncombatant evacuations, or security operations.

The SPMAGTF's command element is task organized , ACE is task organized Detatchment, GCE is a platoon sized infantry, and LCE is task organized .
