Two modes of the (SINCGARS) Radio System
|
SINGLE CHANNEL (SC)
- The Reciever Transmitter(RT) communicates on one frequency FREQUENCY HOPPING (FH) - Has ability to secure transmisisons through using the Transmission Security Key (TSK) and frequency hopping reduces or eliminates the threat of jamming and direction-finding equipment. (1) cold start TSK (2) SC frequency loaded into MAN channel (3) hopset (4) lockout set(s) (5) FH sync time. |
|
Maximum transmission ranges for the SINCGARS
|
Low - 200-400m
Medium - 400m-5k High - 5-10k Power Amplifier - 10k-40k Vehicle Only |

MANPACK & Vehicle Radio Component
|
Battery - Be cautious of LITHIUM battery (dangerous) do not heat, puncture, or mutilate. Do not short circuit, Dont store battery in equipment if it is not in use.
Antenna - Hant Tighten whip into antenna base, Do not over tighten, position antenna as needed by bending gooseneck (Do not use antenna as a handle.) Handset - Secure handset to AUD/DATA connecton. righty tighty lefty loosy Field Pack - Folt top flap of field pack over RT and secure flap to field back. (Vehicle Radios are Installed and removed by MAINTNANCE PERSONNEL.) |

4 Methods to Tie down Antenna

STAY DOWN : CLAMP/CLIP
SNAP FREE : CLAMP/ CLIP |
|
Proceedures for loading SC frequencies
|
- Obtain authorized frequency
- Set FCTN to LD. - Set MODE to SC. - Set CHAN to MAN, CUE, or desired channel (1-6) where frequency is to be stored. - Press FREQ (display will show "00000") - Press CLR ( - - - - - ) - Enter numbers of new frequency - Press STO - Repeat eight steps above for additional frequencies - Set FCTN to SQ ON |
