Chromatography

Separate the solution with a number of different solutes in the solvent. Place a drop of the solution to be separated near the bottom of the chromatography paper and dip the bottom of the paper in the solvent. The solvent moves up the paper and carries the solute with it. Different solutes move st different speeds so they separate

Crystallisation

Separate solution into their different parts:dissolved solids and liquids. Heat the mixture so that the solvent evaporates.

Eventually crystals of the dissolved solids will form and we can collect the liquid by condensing it as it evaporates.

Fractional distillation

Separate lots of liquids with different boiling points.

The mixture is slowly heated until the liquid with the lowest boiling point boils and then condenses.

Then we increase the temperate slowly to collect the other fractions
