All of the Island that make up the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Choropleth Map
A map that uses different levels of colour to give numeric information about places.
Constituency
An electoral area. The UK is divided up into 646 constituencies, each of which appoints a Member of Parliament (MP).
Continent
A large land mass. There are seven continents: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania.
Democracy
A form of government where people exercise power by voting in elections.
Destination
A place where people travel to, either permanently or temporarily.
Election
An occasion when people vote to decide who is going to form a government.
European Union (EU)
An economic and political organisation that joins together 27 countries from the continent of Europe.

A large island made up of England, Scotland and Wales.
Human Geography
The study of people and human made aspects of the world.

The way in which we see ourselves or are viewed by others. It can also include who we associate ourselves with.

Manufacturing
Constructing or producing goods.
Migration
The movement of people from one place to another to live or work.
National

Parliament
The ruling body in the UK, which is made up of the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Physical Geography
The study of the natural world.
Primary Industry
The way that people obtain natural resources from the land and sea. e.g Farming, Fishing, Mining.
Pull Factor
A positive of a place that encourages people to move there.
Push Factor
A negative feature about a place that encourages people to leave it.
Referendum
Referring to a political question to the electorate for a direct decision by public vote.
Regional
Characteristic of, common to, a region- an area usually smaller than a country, but larger than a local area.
Secondary Industry
Making things from natural resources, or manufacturing, e.g steel working, ship building.
Service
Something that benefits the public.
Tertiary Industry
Providing a service, e.g. Nurse, Police Officer
United Kingdom (UK)
A nation made up of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
