lesion
an area of abnormal tissue anywhere on or in the body. may be caused by disease or trauma
crust
collection of dried serum and cellular debris
ex: scab that forms form the drying of a body exudate like eczema
cyst
thick-walled, closed sac or pouch containing fluid or semisolid material
ex: pilonidal cyst; found over the sacral area of the back in the midline and contains hairs
sebaceous cyst; a collection of yellowish sebum found on the scalp, vulva and scrotum
erosion
wearing away or loss of epidermis

macule
flat lesion measuring less than 1 cm in diameter
