Cat bites ____x more infectious than dog bites. Risk for pasturella from cat bites.

3x more infectious. Always give Abx for cat bites. Don't need to give abx for dog bites unless high risk pt.

Compartment Syndrome Pressure Monitoring

10mmHg or less OK.


<20mmHG is what is needed for oxygen to get to tissue.


30-40mmHg : possible fasciotomy

Anterior or Posterior Shoulder dislocation is worse?

Posterior is worse.


Surface of shoulder is curved laterally more on the posterior portion. Making dislocation posteriorly more traumatic.


When posterior dislocation, consider a seizure as a cause.
