nucleus
control cell activities

produce ribosomes

it contains the cell hereditary information (DNA)
cell membrane
it gives the cell shape and holds the cytoplasm

separates cell contents from the environment

the cell membrane consists of a double layer of phospholipids interspersed with variety of other molecules.
chromosomes
it carry hereditary information ( DNA )
ribosomes
where the proteins are made
mitochondria
release energy from food
produces energy through cellular respiration
vacuole
store substances
lysosomes
destroy worn out parts and get rid of bacteria
contains digestive enzymes that breakdown food and old organelles.
chloroplast
it makes food for plants
cell wall
the thick outer in the plant it's covering, protecting and supporting the cell
ER endoplasmic reticulum
moves materials within cell
cytoplasm
it's where the cells do most of it's chemical reaction

gel like fluid that holds the organelles.

where all chemicals take place

it's clear color
cyto skeleton
skeleton of the cell, supports cell's structure.helps in intracellular transport and cell movement
Golgi apparatus
synthesis, packages and releases concentrate proteins or lipids
cilia
hair like structures
smooth
tissues on the wall of the guts; the iris of the eye
cisternae
flattened stacked membrane folds
nucleolus
site of ribosome synthesis
Teodor Shwam
he was a German scientist. In 1839 he concluded that all animals were made of cell
Robert Hooke
In 1665 after observing a dead cork cells under the microscope. He used the word "cell" to describe the basic unit of all living things.
Prokaryotic Cells
cells without a nucleus and with out cell membrane
ex.bacteria do not contain individual cell parts.
The Cell Theory
1_ All living things are made of cells

2_ Cells are the basic unit of structure and functions in all living things

3_ Cell can come only from another cell

4_ Cell need and use energy

5_ Cell contain DNA

6_ The cell of each species are chemically similar
what is the names of the Oraganells that they only found in plants?
1_ Cell Wall

2_ Chloroplasts
Eukaryotic Cells
Cells that contain a nucleus and membrane
ex. animals , plants, fungi, and protist cells
Mattias Schleidan
He was a German botanist. In 1838 he concluded that all plants are made of cells.
Golgi Body
it packages and store chemicals
Why when viewing an objects through a lens they appear upside down?
because the light go the lens and then it bends ( the light bends ) and it will look upside down.
Cellular Respiration
process by which a cell releases energy from food in the mitochondria.
Ingestion
process of taking in food
digestion
process of breaking down food so that it can be used by living things

the chemical breakdown of organic and inorganic molecules into smaller parts
transpor
process of moving nutrients and wasted in a living thing.

moving materials around the cell organism.
Excretion
process of getting rid of wastes
What information must be included on all microscope drawing?
The information that is included on all microscope drawing is magnification power.
Anton Van Leeuwenhoek
He was a Dutch businessman and a lens maker

In 1674 he was the first person to see microscope living thing in a drop of pond water.
Rudolf Virchow
In 1855 Virchow proposed that all cells come from other cells.
Explain how to use the microscope?
1_ use the coarse adjustment to raise the body tube.

2_ adjust the diaphragm so that you can see a bright light through the eyepiece

3_ place the slide on the stage, and be sure to center it over the hole in the stage and secure it with the stage clip.

4_ Turn the nose piece to click the scanning objective lens into place.

5_using the coarse adjustment Knob, slowly lower the lens and focus on the specimen being viewed. Be Sure not to touch the slide or objects within lens.

6_When using the light power lens, use only fine adjustment Knob.

7_ Move the slide on the stage with very small movements to view other parts of it.
you may need to refocus using the fine adjustment.
Describe how to properly carry microscope?
you hold it firmly by "Arm" and "Base" when walking with it, it should be held near your chest.
What is the difference between cell parts and a molecules?
cell parts are bigger , molecules are much smaller.
