Chloroplast Research Paper

Chloroplast (Plant cells only) - Small oval structure containing chlorophyll giving the chloroplast a green pigment. Chloroplast uses the sun’s energy to create food for the plant, this is known as photosynthesis.

Cell wall (Plant cells only) - Provides structure and protection to the cell in the form of an outer layer. This organelle lets H2O, CO2, and O2 pass through it.

One large vacuole (Plant cells only) - Large sac filled with fluids. The vacuole in a plant cell stores, large amounts of food for nutrients, water, and waste.

Cell membrane - Remains within the cell wall in plant cells. This layer is a selectively permeable layer; it only allows certain substances in and out of the cell. The cell membrane also provides support

The Cytoplasm is a jelly- like liquid present in a cell. It is a colourless substance and generally alluded as cytosol (means substance of the cell). It encompasses the cell membrane, nucleus and cellular organelles.1 Its main function is the movement of cellular organelles inside the cell. It also provides shape to the cell.…

Animal cell are round in shape and are irregular, as plant cells have rectangular shapes. Plant cells produce energy from sunlight from chloroplasts. Animal cells do not have chloroplast. In Animal cells energy is produced from food in the Mitochondria. The third difference is that plant cells have cell wall, which give it it’s boxlike shape & protect it from injury.…

A lot of things have one “personality”, in common. But some have more and some have less. For example, if the organisms from a plant cell was compared to a school, they would be alike because a school has students helping to school or the “base” and in a plant cell, all the different organisms act like those students. But don’t worry, a plant cell doesn’t just have to be compared to a school. It could be compared to a person, a project, another kind of cell, and basically anything else.…

Organelles in the Cell Cells are the smallest structural unit of all organs and organ systems. They are essential to life. Both animal species and plant species need cells to maintain life. Cells have many and are made up of many organelles that have specific jobs. Animal and plants cells are different, but mainly composed of the same things.…

After 9 minutes (“more time under light source”), there were more bubbles than at the beginning. However, it was not due to the closeness of the lamp but to the amount of time under it. Also, the plant was heated up towards the end and it gave results, even though the distance between the plant and lamp was greater. Some possible mistakes that could have occurred during this experiment can include the following: Miscalculating the distance between the Elodea plant and the light source.…

Characteristics of living cell Cells are considered as the most fundamental unit that has the responsibility to carry functions within a living organism (De Robertis & De Robertis, 2006). The characteristics of living cells are: Cell Membrane: A protective layer that is surrounded to protect from its organelles and is made of bi-layer of a molecule known as phospholipids. A cell membrane also facilitates the transportation of molecules…

Homeostasis is defined as keeping the variables and conditions of a system constant and regulating the internal conditions. In a biological system at the cellular level, this can be defined as the process of maintaining stable conditions inside a cell, such as a normal pH, salinity, and ion concentration, to keep the cell healthy. There are several parts of the cell that play a role in homeostasis, but one of the more prominent ones is the phospholipid bilayer membrane. The cell membrane surrounds the cell, and therefore plays a large role in keeping the internal conditions of the cells constant.…

The plant cell has some other organelles that are exclusive to plant cells and can’t be found in animal cells but the majority of organelles found in animal cells can be found in both. Chloroplasts are one of these, they are responsible for photosynthesis within the cell. This explains why all of the characteristics found in the animal cell during the practical were also found in the plant cell, but the cell wall was visible in only the plant…
