Merriwether Lewis and William Clark

Sacagawea was the daughter of the Shoshone chef. When she was little she was kidnapped by the Hidatsa tribe. Later sold to a French Canadian fur trader and they were later married.They were hired by Lewis and Clark to be interpreters with their young son. Clark wrote about her being there feared many Native Americans. She was able to find eatable plants, trade horses, make shoes and clothes.

Sacagawea
