Pectoralis Major
O: Clavicular head- the medial
clavicle; sternocostal head- sternum, 1st-6th costal cartilages and
aponeurosis of external abdominal oblique muscle.
I: Lateral lip of intertubercular groove.
N: Medial and lateral pectoral nerves.
A: Acting together,both heads adduct and medially rotate humerus;
acting alone, the clavicular head flexes glenohumeral joint; acting alone, the sternocostal head extends (the flexed) glenohumeral joint.
