Alkaliphale- grows well in basic environment.
Adicophile- grows well acidic environment.
Neutrophilic- grows in conditions close to pH 7.
Units smaller than 1 millimeter
Micro meter- one thousandth of a millimeter.
Nano meter- one thousanth of a micro meter.
Tempurture levels and growth
Psychrophiles (cryophilic)- likes growing below 20 degrees.
Mesophiles- like to grow around 20- 40 degrees (human pathogen).
Thermophilic- microbes that enjoy 40 degrees.
What do microbes need to grow?
Enviroment, materials and energy
Pasteurisation
