What is in an animal cell?

Cell membrane, nucleus, cytoplasm, mitochondria and ribosomes.

What does a ribosome do?

Where proteins are made in the cell

R

T

Y

What does mitochondria do?

Where most reactions happen for aerobic respiration take place. Respiration transfers energy that the cell needs to work.

What does a cell membrane do?

It holds the cell together and controls what goes in and out of the cell.

What does a cell wall do?

It is made of cellulose and supports and strengthens the cell.

What does a vacuole do?

It contains cell sap (a weak solution of sugar and salts).

What do chloroplasts do?

It is where photosynthesis happens, making food for the plant. It contains chlorophyll which absorbs the light for photosynthesis.

What is in a bacterial cell?

Cytoplasm, cell membrane, cell wall, single circular strand of DNA, Plasmids.

Why do bacterial cells have a circular strand of DNA?

They don't have a true nucleus. The strand of DNA floats around in the cytoplasm.

What is a plasmid?

It is a small ring of DNA and bacterial cells can have one or more plasmid.

What does a nucleus do?

It contains genetic material that controls the activities of the cell.

What does cytoplasm do?

It is a gel like substance where most of the chemical reactions happen in the cell. It contains enzymes that control the chemical reactions.

What is in a plant cell?

Nucleus, cell membrane, cytoplasm, mitochondria, ribosome, cell wall, chloroplasts and vacuole.
