Fuel tanks |
- No 1 (left wing) - No 2 (right wing) - CTR Fuel available to engines from all 3
- center tank pumps fuel at higher pressure, fuel consumed first (w/ pumps ON) - center pumps must be ON if > 1000lbs - CONFIG alert if > 1600lbs and pumps off w/ either engine running - main tanks must be full if CTR tank contains more than 453 kgs |
|
ENG VALVE & SPAR VALVE lights |
SPAR VALVE - upline before 1st stage fuel pump ENG VALVE- downline after FMU - allow fuel to flow to engine when both valves open
DIM blue = valve closed Ext = valve open Bright blue = valve in transit or disagree
- both closed when engine start lever moved to CUTOFF or ENGINE FIRE switch pulled - open when start lever to idle (+ eng fire switch in) |
|
Crossfeed selector |
- DC battery bus pwrd - allows L & R engine fuel manifolds to interconnect
VALVE OPEN light stays illum bright blue = Crossfeed selector inop |
|
Fuel pumps |
- 2 in ea tank - AC pwrd - fuel passing through cools and lubricates |
|
LOW PRESSURE illum |
Center tank = output press low AND switch ON - pump will auto shutoff after delay
Main tank = output press low OR switch is off - engine can draw fuel from corresponding main tank through suction feed line if both pumps fail - however dissolved air from fuel may restrict FF at higher altitudes |
|
Fuel temp |
- gauge AC pwrd
* maintain 5F/3C above fuel freeze pt OR -45F/-43C, the higher (prior to TO & in flight) - may req alt change, speed inc, deviation to warmer air mass |
|
Max fuel imbalance |
Between main wings tanks (all phases) = 453kg |
|
To balance fuel |
Cnt tank pump switches (if tank fuel) ... OFF Crossfeed selector ... OPEN - verify VALVE OPEN bright then dim Fuel pump switches (low tank) ... OFF
When quantity balanced: Fuel pump switches ... ON Cnt tank pump switches ... ON Crossfeed selector ... close - verify VALVE OPEN bright then ext |
