A woman has $9.37 in her pocket and gives $4.50 to charity. How much money does she have left?

$9.37  $4.50 = $4.87


Felicia collects $1 for every car and $2 for every truck that passes through the toll gate. If she collects $550 and 200 cars came through the gate, how many tucks came through the gate?

550  200 = 350
Half of 350 is 175. We're cutting it in half because the trucks are worth $2 

In one community 15% of the senior citizens walk in the park: if there are 120 senior citizens, how many of them walk through the park?

15 x 120 = 1800
1800 / 100 = 18 

A tennis ball machine shoots 21 forehands, 25 backhands and 9 lobs. If a player missed 6 forehands, 17 backhands, and 2 lobs, how many balls were hit?

21 + 25 + 9 = 55
6 + 17 + 2 = 25 55  25 = 30

45 / 60 = 0.75 x 100 = 75%


A man bought 2 gallons of gasoline for $2.75. How much did his friend pay for 12 gallons at the same price?

2 / 12 = 6
6 x 2.75 = 16.50 

Section A contains 12 rows of 15 seats each. Section B contains only 10 rows but has the same total number of seats as Section A. How many seats are in each row of Section B?

12 x 15 = 180
180 / 10 = 18 

To bake a pie, first bake the crust for 15 minutes, and then bake it with the filling for 60 minutes, and let it cool for 30 minutes. If a couple plans to serve a completely baked and cooled pie at 7PM, what time should they put the first part in the oven?

15 + 60 + 30 = 105min

24= ice cream

Jack, Sally and Joe all work in a bookstore. Jack sold 126 books. Joe sold 1/2 as many books as Jack, and Sally sold 1/3 as many books as Joe. How many books did Sally sell?

126 x .5 = 63
63 / 3 = 21 

Of the 80 T shirts, 10% are white, 30% are blue, and the rest are red. How many are red?

10% + 30% = 40%
(10040=60%) 80 x .6 (60%) = 48 

The length of the sides of one triangle are 2/3 the length of a similar triangle. If a side of the lower triangle is 36 millimeters, what is the measure of the matching side of the smaller triangle?

2 / 3 x 36 = 72
72 / 3 = 24 

A store is having a 1/8 off sale. What percentage of each item sold does the cashier subtract from and the sale price?

100 / 8 = 12.5


A shoe box has a volume of 360 cubic inches. If the width is 5 inches and the height is 6 inches, what is the length?

5 x 6 = 30
360 / 30 =12 

Over a dozen workers helped to construct the new town church. One particular man did 1/6 of the work and one particular woman did 1/3 of the work. Between that man and woman, how much of total work did they accomplish together?

1/6 + 1/3 = 1 + 2 / 6
