Infection of the middle ear is known as otitis media The pus from the middle ear may take one of the following paths 1) Discharged into external ear following tympanic rupture 2) May erode the floor and spread downwards causing i) Thrombosis, brain abscess ii) thrombosis in internal jugular vein, sigmoid sinus |
