1) Cranial Cavity
Formed by cranial bone and contains brain
2) Vertebral Canal
Formed by the vertebral column and contains the spinal cord and the beginnings of spinal nerves
3) Thoracic Cavity
Chest Cavity; it contains the pleural cavity, pericardial cavity and mediastinum
a) Thoraic Cavity : Pleural Cavity
Each surrounds a lung; the serous membrane of each pleural cavity is the pleura
