Using The Pipet |
1. Squeeze bulb and touch it to the mouth of the pipette. 2. Place other end of the pipette in liquid to be transferred and slowly release pressure on bulb. 3. Draw liquid up past desired level, quickly replacing bulb with index finger. 4. Let liquid drain until bottom of meniscus lines up with desired level on pipette. 5. Touch tip of pipette to inside of beaker to remove any dhring drops. 6. Transfer liquid to seconf beaker and touch tip to inside beaker and let liquid drain out of pipet |

Rules for handling reagents and solutions |
Select the best grade of chemical available for analytical work. Replace the top of every container immediately after removal of the reagent. Hold the stoppers of reagent bottles between your fingers, never set a stopper on a desktop Never return any excess reagent to a bottle. Never insert spatulas, spoons, or knives into a bottle that contains a solid chemical. Keep the reagent shelf and the laboratory balance clean and neat. Observe local regulations concerning the disposal of surplus reagents and solutions. |
