What is the name of the war which began the build up of the American revolution?

Seven Year War/ French and Indian War

The different colonies of America began to bond and see themselves as one nation

What was the Boston massacre?

(March 5, 1770) The murder of 5 colonists, which generated range amongst Americans everywhere.

Past the Appalachian mtns, up to the west coast

The kept retreating west

They retreated north to what would now be called canada

Why did the British tax colonists?

Because they were in debt from the war and decided to exploit the Americans because they believed they fought the war for them

The colonists believed they did nothing to deserve the taxes and refused to pay unless they were told why.... Additionally, they had no representatives in the British parliament therefore it was illegal to tax them by Britain's law
