Reserved powers
powers that the United States Constitution does not give to the federal government, or forbid to the states, are reserved to the states or the people
Concurrent Powers
powers that are shared by the state and the federal government. They may be exercised simultaneously within the same territory and in relation to the same body of citizens.
Supremacy Clause
The clause establishes the U.S. Constitution, Federal Statutes, and U.S. treaties as "the supreme law of the land." The text decrees these to be the highest form of law in the U.S. legal system, mandating that all state judges must follow federal law in the face of conflicting state law or when a conflict arises between federal law and a state constitution.
