George III

Became king in 1760, he made two fundamental errors. He lashed out against the colonists, and appointed Prime Ministers who were determined to tax the colonies.



George Grenville

Prime Minister of England. He cancelled all previous land grants given to the colonists by previous Kings and Parliaments. He convinced the King and parliament to raise taxes.

He was a member of the British Parliament and believed the colonies should have direct representation in Parliament.

Places: Fort Duquesne

A British fort that was captured by the French. General Braddock tried to take it back, but died in the process due to poor tactics. George Washington was able to take it back and drive the French out. It was renamed Fort Pitt.
