how is the b737 pressurized
the b737 uses the AC/pressurization system to pressurize the aircraft
how many AC packs are on the b737
2
left hand pack and the right hand pack
how many outflow valves are there on the b737
1 main outflow valve PLUS 1 overboard exhaust valve, 2 pressure relief valves, and 1 negative pressure relief valve
explain how the pressurization system on the b737 works
hot bleed air is taken from engines the left hand and right hand AC packs. the bleed air then enters the pack(s), goes through 2 compressors where it is colled. this cold air is then mixed with hot by-pass air to get the temperature correct. the conditioned air then enters the aircraft cabin and cockpit where it pressurizes the aircraft. the air is then allowed to escape from the aircraft at a controlled rate through the outflow valve
which outflow valve can be manually closed on the b737
the main outflow valve can be closed if necessary
which cargo area is heated and carries live animals in the b737
the forward cargo area
what is the max altitude with 1 AC pack inoperative for the b737
CHECK MEL
FL 250
what is the max altitude that the b737 may operate at if both AC packs are lost while enroute
CHECK AOM
14,000 ft
what is the max altitude that the b737 may be dispatched to fly at if both AC packs are inoperative prior to a flight departing
CHECK MEL
10,000 ft
is it possible to dispatch the b737 with 1 or both AC packs inoperative
yes but check the MEL first. there will be a penalty
which engines provide bleed air to the packs on the b737
engines 1 and 2
where are the AC packs located on the b737
in the belly of the aircraft, just forward of the main landing gear area
