Ever wonder how much Hvac has changed society ? Throughout history to what type of systems hvac has and how hvac can affect society is crazy to think there is so many things that involve hvac. Society lives through Hvac and does not even realize it .
The start of Hvac can go all the way to the 1800’s. In those years , ice was being experimented in 1820 as a way to keep cool, then 14 years later Jacob Perkins invented the ice machine ("History Of Air Conditioner"). In 1902 a 25 year old man name Willis Carrier invented the first ever air conditioner, but the only problem was that it was not for human comfort it was only made to control the temperature and humidity in his workplace of printing. There's about five types of air conditioning. Cooling only Split-System is a “combination of an indoor air handling unit and an outdoor condensing unit “ (“HVAC systems”). Cooling only Packaged System is a “single unit combining all the components described in the split system ” (“HVAC systems “). This type of system has to be placed outside the building. Heat Pump is a “special valve in the refrigeration piping allow the refrigeration cycle to be operated in reverse ”(“HVAC systems “). Almost like cooling only system but just with the difference is that the system is being reversed. Chilled Water System, “liquid water is pumped throughout the building to “chilled water coils”. Since the liquid water needs to be at a cold temperature, a “cooling plant” is required ” (“HVAC systems “). Window Air Conditioner is “a window air conditioner is typically installed in a window or custom opening in a wall ” (“HVAC systems “). This system is pretty well known and easy to install.
