Character, presence, intellect, leads, develops, achieves.

What is an Army leader?

Anyone who by virtue of assumed role or assigned responsibility inspires and influences people to accomplish organizational goals. Motivate people both inside and outside the chain of command to pursue actions, focus thinking and shape decisions for the greater good of the organization.

What is leadership?

The process of influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation to accomplish the mission and improve the organization.

What is toxic leadership?

Combination of self-centered attitudes, motivations, and behaviors that have adverse effects on subordinates, the organization, and mission performance.

What is command?

The authority that a commander in the armed forces lawfully exercises over subordinates by virtue of rank or assignment. Also includes responsibility for health, welfare, morale, and discipline of assigned personnel.

What is mission command?

Exercise of authority and direction by the commander using mission orders to enable disciplined initiative within the commander's intent to empower agile and adaptive leaders in the conduct of unified land operations.

What is the importance of AR 600-20 in regards to ADP 6-22?

It specifically charges commanders to perform functions such as establishing a positive climate, carrying for well-being of soldiers, properly training their soldiers, and developing subordinates' competence.

What is character?

It is the internal identity of the leader.

What is presence?

How others see the leader.

What is intellect?

What abilities and knowledge the leader possesses to think and interact with others.

What are the leadership competencies?

Lead, develop, and achieve.

What five competencies fall under the core competency of "lead"?

Leads others, extend influence beyond the chain of command, builds trust, leads by example, and communicates.

What are the four competencies of the core competency "develops"?

Create a positive environment, prepares self, develops others, stewards the profession.

What is the single competency of the core competency "achieves"?

It is to get results.
