Classic Motion Tween

Position change.


An automated transformation of a symbol. Re-sizes and re-locates.

Guided Tween

Position change along a path.


Same as a classic motion tween, but it moves along a path. Created by right clicking on layer name.

Shape Tween

Shape change, color change.


An automated transformation from one shape to another. Can include a change in color.

Stage

The white area. Where everything is supposed to go.

Workspace

The gray area. Where things can be created and moved about, but they will not appear on the stage unless moved there.

Timeline

The timing sequence that shows the frames.

Layer

A timing sequence for an individual object.

Layer Name

Identifies the content of the layer.

Frame (F5)

The individual time segments that contain content (object, character, etc.). F Key: F5

Key Frame (F6)

A segment of time that contains a change in content. F Key: F6

Tween

An automated transformation.

Symbol

A named, grouped object stored in the library. Symbols can be used multiple times by dragging it out of the library.

Library (F11 & View)

A storage location for symbols, graphics, and sounds. Maybe tweens. F Key: F11. Can also be accessed from View and tabs (next to properties).

Properties

Settings connected to whatever is selected. Ex, a tool.

Text

A tool that creates words. Can be tweened by going to Modify, and clicking on Break Apart. Click once for motion tween, click twice for shape tween.
