Where is the hot air from the HOT AIR pressure regulating valve and the trim air valves tapped? |
Upstream of the PACKs |
What is the temperature range of the control in the cockpit and the cabin? |
Cockpit rotary knobs: 24 +- 6C Cabin FAP: limited authority of +-2.5C
If delta P > 1 PSI and you select the RAM AIR pb to ON, what will happen? |
If delta P is greater than 1 PSI, the check valve located downstream the ram air door will not open, even if the ram air door has been selected open. No airflow will then be supplied. |
What is the area that the ACSCs oversee? |
ACSC1: cockpit ACSC2: cabin |
Where is the temperature sensors in the cabin for temperature regulation? |
Lavatory extraction circuit, and Galley ventilation system |
What is the logic of the ram air inlet flap |
During T/O, closes when T/O power is set and the main landing gears are compressed.
During landing, closes as soon as the MLG compressed and speed at or above 70kts. Reopens 20s after the speed drops below 70kts. |
When is high pack flow automatically selected |
Single PACK operation, or Whenever the APU is supplying bleed air |
If crew select PACK flow LO, and the temperature demand cannot be satisfied, then? |
The system will deliver normal flow. |
When the cooling demand in 1 zone cannot be satisfied: |
Signal is send to EIU to increase minimum idle and to raise bleed pressure. Same thing happens to the APU |
What happens if the HOT AIR valve failed close |
Optimized regulation is lost. Trim air valves will fully close and: Pack 1 controls cockpit temp to selected value Pack 2 controls cabin temp to the mean value of the selected temp. |
What does LOW, NORM, HI pack flow represents? |
80%, 100%, 120% of pack flow respectively. |
When turning the RAM air pushbutton on, what do the outflow valves do? |
Delta P >= 1PSI, outflow valve remains normal. No emergency RAM air flows in Delta P < 1 PSI, outflow valves opens to about 50% if auto, does not auto open if in manual control. Emergency RAM airflow is directly supplied to the mixer unit. |
On the ECAM BLEED page, by how much can the pack flow indication be below the actual flow rate? |
30% |
On the ECAM BLEED page, what do the 3 amber triangles mean at the very top? |
User indication. Amber if in flight then RAM air is not fully open and both pack flow control valves are closed. |
On the ECAM BLEED page, when will the pack compressor outlet temp and the pack outlet temp turn amber? |
260C and 90 C |
On the ECAM COND page, when will the zone duct temperature turn amber? |
80C |
On the ECAM COND page, what does amber XX on the zone trim air valve position mean |
The valve fails. |
When will the PACK flow control valve auto close? |
1. Upstream pressure below min 2. Compressor outlet overheat 3. Engine start sequence 4. Fire pushbutton pushed 5. Ditching is selected. |
On the AIR COND overhead panel, the HOT AIR FAULT light comes on and goes off when: |
Fault circuit detects and overheat when duct temp reaches 88C once. Fault light goes off when temp < 70C, and flight crew select OFF (reset fault circuit). |
