North Korea, Cuba - only 1 political party so people couldnt freely choose their leaders - no religous freedom; discouraged in Marx's writing - limited freedom of exp, people who spoke out against govt was sent to jail/sentenced to life in work camps (gulads) - regular people suffered extreme economic hardships - often long lines, little food, & little choice in what they could buy |
