What is shock?

Absence of delivery of oxygen to vital organs or dexreases capillary perfusion

Types of shock?

Hypovolemia ,cardiogenic shock, distributive shock ,obstructive shock

What is distributive shock?types?

Blood volume is 5l and vascular capacity is 5 litres and if capacity increases to 7 litres then there will be pooling if blood and there is no pressure in vascular system to pump blood back to heart and so reduction in preload and reduced cardiac output .anaphylactic shock, septic shock ,neurogenic shock

Mechanism of anaphylactive shock?

Mast cells is more aggregated around blood vessels and then below skin and mucous lining and so if we inject an allergen iv it causes degranulation of mast cells and histamine release and cause vasodilation

Mechanism of septic shock?

In spesis ,activation of immune system and cytokine release and causing wide spread vasodilation

Mechanism of neurogenic shock?

Block of sympathetic system and thus causing vasodilation

Causes of cardiogenic shock?

Arryhthmia including tachy and Brady(CO - HR *STROKE VOLUME)Increase in heart rate will cause cardic cycle time(0.8 sec in which 0.5 sec diastolic and 0.3 sec systolic) to reduce and thus decrease stroke volume ,pump failure like massive MI and cardiomyopathies ,septal and free wall perforation in small MI due to pressure generated during contraction and that weak MI part gets perforated and in free wall it causes hemopericardium and in septal it cause shift of blood from left to right

How cardiomyopathies cause decreased cardiac output?

Pressure in ventricles - tension in wall /radius and so in cardiomyopathies radius increases and thus pressure generated decrease and thus cardiac output decreases

Causes of hypovolemia shock?

Loss of blood, loss of plasma, loss of fluids and electrolytes
