Feedback mechanisms are important for maintaining the body’s homeostasis. First, a stimulus affects the environment. Then, a receptor detects the change and a responds accordingly. Input information travels to the control center. Once the control center deciphers how to solve the problem, output information is sent to the site where the effector is. This feedback loop is what helps many systems maintain homeostasis. These mechanisms are important in the Endocrine System because the Endocrine System maintains an important part of our body’s functions. For example, the Endocrine System is responsible for the secretion of the thyroid hormone. The body’s metabolism is affected by the secretion of thyroxine and triiodothyronine. The feedback loop
