The University of Texas in San Antonio, Roadrunner territory, is located in one of the largest cities, and will allow me to fulfill my nursing career. Throughout high school, I have been involved in many activities. I started off with the STEM academy in my high school. In the STEM academy, we held special events that teach people, especially kids, about new experiments and science-related careers. I helped out the STEM academy by explaining people about the experiments, the purpose behind the experiments and cleaned or organized lab equipment. I was a part of the STEM academy for approximately three years in high school and I really enjoyed it because I knew I could make a difference in my community.…

My grades this past year were and are not indicative of who I am as a student, or as a person in general. My junior year of high school, I decided to do PSEO, thinking it was an easy way to get credits for both high school and college. I did not realize the struggle I was going to have just trying to be accountable for myself during my senior year. My daily schedule consisted of work, soccer, managing the high school boy’s hockey team, volunteer work, spending time with my high school friends and taking college courses. I took the most challenging classes through Anoka-Ramsey Community College, thinking that like high school these would be the best for me.…

Throughout the first semester of College Composition, I wrestled with three essays, all differing in format and content. The first was a narrative that reflected our educational experience. After this came an analysis of a visual text, followed by a research paper. The narrative was the easiest to write; however, I acquired important skills for writing the other two, which were in a less familiar format. With the three essays, I learned about my own writing skills and habits concerning development and critical thinking, time management, and organization.…

Like most people, the third grade was a highly intense time. This was the period in which you had to decipher between wanting to learn how to multiply or learn how to divide first. Or for me the most difficult decision may have been choosing between kickball and tetherball during recess. But I had an issue of seeing adults doing things and if it was simple I would do them too. For me as a child I had what many considered an old sold.…

Throughout the semester of English Composition I, I learned any new things. Over the past few months I have learned many new tips on how to create a good paper. Although I gained much knowledge over the past few months I did struggle with a few things such as formulating a written thesis statement expressing my main point in the composition, producing rough drafts preliminary to the final draft, applying transition strategies to organize the entire composition cohesively and coherently, and overall practicing various prewriting strategies, such as thinking, brainstorming, listing, and freewriting.…
