We learn countless lessons throughout our life, yet many people take what they learn for granted. People forget to live, they walk on the road of life “going with the flow’, forgetting to learn, forget to love, and most importantly people forget to live. In Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom, we learn through character Morrie, that we are ignoring life's most important lessons. Morrie Schwartz is Mitch's former college professor and through a list of events, one including Morrie being diagnosed with ALS causing him to lose the ability to walk, Mitch decides go and see his former professor at his home. Only for Mitch to be enlightened by his stories about love, death and life. Mitch is changed by these stories and it helps him change his …show more content…
One of the biggest is that life within itself is a message. That you should not stumble through life doing thing that don’t you happy and also always be yourself. One of the most important messages that correspond with life is that of death. “Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live….Dying is nothing to be afraid of. It’s living unhappily that is truly frightening.” (Albom 82) When Morrie says this quote he is trying to show that if you live life fearing death you will never live a happy life because you will always be fearing death. Only when you can accept death can you finally live, and live happily. Another important message that comes in through out the story in the message of love. “Love wins. Love always wins….The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and let it come in.” (Albom 40 & 52) Morrie thinks one of the most important things to feel is love. No matter where you go people will always love, so in order for you to live a peaceful life you should allow others to love you and at the same time accept and love …show more content…
These lessons of life are the opportunities that allow you to live happy and peacefully. Tuesdays with Morrie shows how people can change from being oblivious and blind in life to being able to live with unconditional love and happiness. Just like Mitch we can learn to find the best aspects in life. Over the course of 14 Tuesdays Mitch changed this life thanks to the advice and wiseness of Morrie. There is Morrie in everyone of our lives. In on communities, towns, and families there is someone out there who can guide us, support us, and give us the stories we need to find the happiness we need to live a satisfied
