Morrie says “...once you learn how to die, you learn how to live” (82). He talks about how he never used to cherish life as much as he does after developing ALS. The lesson is an aphorism that Morrie wants Mitch to understand. He even repeats the quote, making sure Mitch hears him clearly. He wants Mitch to live his life as much as he can and to live it to the fullest, getting the most out of it. I believe we could all take that quote from the book and apply it to our lives. Whether we are dying or not, we should still cherish our lives as much as possible. Every lesson Morrie teaches Mitch is a lesson that we should all take away from the book, even if they do not necessarily apply to us. This book will stick with me for the rest of my life. All of the lessons and the stories are so pure and genuine that I cannot forget them. The way the book is set up makes it even better to read. As I stated previously, the memories Mitch uses from college make the story an even better
