My mom, and my dad all went to Michaels. Me and my mom went into Michaels and my dad stayed in the car. I always get candy when I go there so I was wondering what candy I was get. When we got into the checkout line I saw a candy that caught my eye. It was called Bean Boozled jelly beans. I questioned my mom “ Can I get this candy, i’ve heard of it before?” She replied “ Yes you can, hand the box to me.” I had heard about the candy from a youtuber named Strawburry17. The candy doubles up as a challenge. There is a spinner in the box and there are two flavors for each bean. One flavor is great and one flavor tastes horrible. This candy turned into a viral sensation! When I got home I sat the bag down and acknowleged my mom “ I’m going to do the jelly bean challenge.” She answered “ Ok I will be outside in the backyard.” When she went outside I opened the bag and I pulled out the box and took

I spun the spinner and it landed on chocolate pudding or canned dog food. The color of the jelly bean is brown. Since there are two flavors for each color there is no way you can tell which flavor it is. I put the jelly bean in my mouth and it was canned dog food. I was disgusted! A few jelly beans later I spun the wheel and it landed on black licorice or skunk spray. I sighed “ I hate both of these flavors!” I was scared to eat it. Skunk spray and barf were the two flavors that I was dreading. I slowly placed the jelly bean on my tounge. When I bit down I was in shock. It was skunk spray. It tasted like I walked out to the road, picked up a dead skunk and stuck it’s tail in my mouth! I wailed for my mom “ Mom! Can you come get me a water and

That was until I found a recipe on how to make some chocolate chip cookies and said, “I can totally do this!” an hour and a half later, (yes ... I struggled) and with some guidance of my mother, a batch of cookies popped out of the oven. I was scared at first to let anybody try them because they looked quite horrid, but as soon as the first daredevil, my older brother, tried this twelve-year-old’s cookies he immediately smiled, shoved the remaining cookie into his mouth, and grabbed another two.…

As I began to comprehend the situation, streams of tears flowed like rivers down my face, while I gazed upon the gallon of rockhopper shit on my figure. I began to hear laughter coming from my brother and grandmother, embarrassing me further. My mother wasn't laughing as hysterically as the rest of the peanut gallery because she had received some of the splatter from the initial impact off of my pants. The “wet ones” couldn't jump out of my mothers purse fast enough as I waited for her to clean me up. After clean up, I continued to walk around the zoo smelling like a sewer until we finally decided to drive home (with the windows down of course).…

When I got to Jaelee’s classroom, the children were getting ready for snack time. Jaelee came over and gave me a big hug. When I asked her how she was doing, she did not respond and just looked up at me with a smile. She was practicing writing her E’s and told me “I write them all of these” while pointing to the paper.…

The PR department knew that social media users love a good, funny story and they found the perfect way to capitalize on this. Instead of just replacing the student’s Kit Kat which would have been the easiest thing to do, they chose to send the student 6,500 candy bars and then had a representative for the company help him hand them out. While just giving them to the student could’ve cost the company, by giving them away to the other students it allows the company to use this as tax write off and makes the event relatively…

Tamales Through Time This year’s craziness and smells of carne and my family gathering in my grandparents’ kitchen brings a big, bubbly smile to my face, like always, because I know this means the official start of Christmas, and Christmas means I get to be with my family and Santa is going to bring me presents! My mom says that she heard that I’m on Santa’s nice list for the 5th year in a row! I always look forward to tamale making because I get to be around all my cousins and aunts and uncles and watch them make yummy food for our Christmas Eve feast while I make gingerbread houses! And every year when I ask if I can help this time, grandma always explains while grinning that “you can’t help with the tamales until you’re tall enough to reach the counter because someone so tiny will get knocked into the masa and then we will have tamales that taste like Alejandria!…

600 million pounds of candy are bought every year for Halloween, which totals up to a whopping 1.9 billion dollars. Kids around the world are enjoying the fun of it yearly, which is great in my opinion. Even though nearly everyone loves Halloween, there are still some flaws I’ve seen while trick or treating, or in the news. Whether it is wasting candy, lacing it with drugs, or unenthusiastic people, I think we need to change it. If I could change something in the world, it would be the way we give out and eat candy for Halloween.…
