It was a scalding August afternoon, and I just finished another tiring day of first grade. Sitting down, cold ice soon arrived. When my dad finally arrived, he led me inside the car and drove full speed. Because my dad was driving so fast, every bone inside my body seemed to shift back. Within minutes, nurses greeted us with a stretcher. Wait, does this mean a roller coaster ride! I thought to myself.
“Can you please move your ice pack?” asked one of the nurses. As I moved the ice pack, I could feel a strange numbness vibrating my lower jaw. After the nurse inspected my chin she ordered other nurses to, “Take him to room 36E, begin immediate surgery.”
My mind seemed to stop. The only thing that I could think of was that one word, Surgery. It seemed as if the room was miles away from where we started, more people entered the room. Something squeezed my finger feeling like a pinching paper clip. My head was held securely in place, while a white tarp covered my entire body except for my chin. The only sound was a faint squishing sound. 4 hours later the surgery was completed. I learned my lesson that night to always watch where I’m going because another careless fall can lead to another hospital
