Pathos is used in this advertisement in order to create feelings of unity and ownership. The working men targeted by this ad will feel confident in themselves for wearing Levi Jeans because they were the men who built America according to the Levi Jeans company. It also makes the audience feel joy because seeing children playing in the shining sun usually brings happy emotions. In addition to unity, ownership, and joyfulness the audience feels motivated. Businessmen usually hold the spotlight in America and the common man is usually in the shadow but in this ad they make the common man feel good about themselves and make it seem as if the roles have changed between the two different types of people.
