One of which includes the conflict between the United States and the USSR with each country supporting completely different ideologies. The US being Capitalist; everyone for themselves and USSR being Communist; everyone helping each other. Both greatly feared that the opposing way of life would expand and destroy the way they have been living for many years (“USA, USSR Fight”). As a result of that, a wall was built across Berlin, Germany to show how they do not want it to expand into their territory (Adams 9). It was later seen as a physical representation of the border between the two ideologies classified as the “Iron Curtain” (9). Furthermore, the bitter grudge which existed because of the imbalance of power between the USSR and US can transfer over many years, which can eventually consequence in a war because they each yearn to become the supreme ruler. Henceforth the world is more unstable and less secure. In addition, Cuba and America have tough relationships. During the Cold War, bitter conflicts arose between Cuba and the US. The conflict started around 1961 when America sent the CIA to secretly dispose of Cuba’s leader at the time (Sheehan 18). Moreover, the Cuban Missile Crises was a threat to world peace, when an image was captured that showed the USSR was building nuclear bombs in Cuba, which directly threatened the United States (Adams 19). The military confidence makes the US able to agree to war with ease and cause a lot of destruction. The US now has many “enemies” which can result in a third world war if they decide to become allies and go against the US. The Cold War also created much poverty which harmed a big population of people. It decreased quality of life in multiple countries and reduced safety. The Cold War resulted in many unfortunate events, and wasted efforts. Additionally if the Cuban Missile Crises was not resolved, a nuclear war was very possible. This means that humanity has already encountered the threat of being reduced to ashes, and there is good possibility that the world may encounter this
