Michael J Fox has impacted many people who have Parkinson’s Disease and he always encourages for people to smile no matter what. Michael J Fox is well-known for his acting in the movie Back To The Future. He is also known for creating a foundation for Parkinson’s Disease. Michael is very thoughtful and courteous to everyone fighting Parkinson’s and is always inspiring. Michael J Fox has impacted many people positively while trying to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease.

Michael J Fox had many interests when he was little, but he wasn't into acting at that time. He was into hockey and he dreamed of being a hockey player (“The Biography”). Michael decided to try out his school drama club. He liked it, but he didn't consider going into it professionally.

One accomplishment was when he starred in the hit movie Back To The Future (Buddytv.com). This movie was a big hit when it was released in 1985 and the movie was such a hit that it earned over $380 million worldwide (Biography.com). This is one of the best and most well-known movies Michael has been in. Another accomplishment is he is the best-selling author of three books. The three books were called Lucky Man, All with Hyperion A Funny Thing On The Way To The Future, and Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist (“The Biography”). One last accomplishment is he has raised a lot of money for Parkinson’s Disease research. In spring of 2009, Michael’s foundation raised about two hundred million dollars for Parkinson’s research (Fox 273). Besides all the accomplishments Michael has gotten, Michael also had some failures and obstacles. When he was little, he dreamed of being a hockey player. Michael then realized he couldn’t because he was too small with his height and weight. Michael was so upset and he never grew large enough to play hockey (Mills). In 1991, Michael was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He was having a very hard time dealing with these tremors he was having. Michael never told the public about his condition for 7 years until he finally let it out (Mills). Those were some failure or obstacles that Michael J Fox faced. Michael was shocked and didn’t know how else to feel. He decided to keep it a secret from the public for 7 to 8 years. Finally, in 1999, Michael couldn’t hide his very deep secret anymore. He told it to the world and everyone was shocked. He even told the public he chose to get surgery done on his brain to ease the tremors he was getting by his condition. Due him having and fighting Parkinson’s, Michael decided to retire from the show he was currently working on, which was “Spin City”. He also decided to take a break from acting for a while to spend time with his family and to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. He would only make special appearances on TV shows and movies once in awhile. Michael got his own show for a year but then went back to being a special guest on TV shows and movies afterwards (Biography.com).
