His parents did not think it was logical for him to go to college but his brother thought otherwise. He came from a wealthy family; his brother always made him feel like a normal person, his brother helped him grow up. He was so pressured into walking and doing treatments one day he just did it. Then when he started to sort of lose his best friend he met new people with the same interests as him, he was just so used to being with one person when he did not really have anyone he had to make new friends, if he would of never fell apart with his friend he would not have found more friends. His best friend knew him for him and he does not mention ever feeling criticized or lied to by him, he just needed to let people get to know him more. He never let people get to know him for who he was so he was never sure of people’s reactions of him. He only ever trusted his parents’ reaction to things he did. He did not feel an encouragement from his parents to do his best in school so he just stuck to what he was able to since to him they seem happy with his grades. He went by what people thought like when he mentions that people graduate high school goes to college and continues school or go to work, he was just doing what everyone else does. He wanted to do something with his life, to feel useful or important. Him going into journalism is affected by the librarian and his English teacher.
