Gauss was the first mathematician to construct a 17-sided heptadecagon using a compass and a straight edge, and more importantly was the first to prove the laws of quadratic reciprocity. He started using his skills when he was only fourteen years old. Gauss attended the University of Göttingen from 1795 to 1798. He was made director of where he went to school at. He also worked with Wilhelm Weber for almost six years making a primitive telegraph device. Carl Friedrich Gauss was a prolific author who wrote more than 300 papers, mostly in Latin. He also knew Russian and other foreign languages. From what he started with and what he ended with is incredible.
